My Story
The journey that led to Choose Bold

My story did not start with a dramatic moment. It began in the quiet years after I had been working for a while—when career routines began to feel too small, when I became a father, and when I survived a painful chapter that revealed a resilience I hadn’t known was there. I found myself replaying my life: revisiting every phase I could remember, uncovering the moments that shaped me, examining how I reacted, what I felt, the person I was then.
I began asking: What shaped me? Who am I becoming? How far am I from where I want to be?
I write from the middle of the journey, where doubt and conviction coexist—not as someone who has arrived, but as someone learning to live more honestly. Works like Siddhartha, the Bhagavad Gita, and Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning have shaped my thinking. So have Guru Nanak's Japuji Sahib and Alfred Adler's psychology.
Choose Bold grew from a simple belief: that meaning comes from challenging conformity through deliberate, small acts of courage. In my own life, that has meant leaving jobs and relationships that did not align with my core values—after giving them my best—and choosing integrity over comfort when staying quiet would have been easier.
One of the things I've learned about myself is that I need very little. Competing on material terms has never felt like a game worth winning. Experiences like a night alone in a tent in the wilderness remind me that fulfillment comes more from how we live than what we own. Now, "more" means prioritizing mental health and social well-being, building honest relationships, and choosing communities that feel aligned.
This space is for people who feel a similar restlessness—who want to live with greater intention and integrity. I'll share my journey through personal stories. If they help you trust yourself more, live with greater integrity, and become grittier and kinder, then this space is doing what it was meant to do.
Best,
Manoj
